The Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute's 4th Annual Women Mentoring Women Program
The Chattanooga Women's Leadership Institute (CWLI) has developed the Women Mentoring Women Program with a purpose of teaching potential participants to mentor. The mentors and potential mentors completing the program will be able to provide skills to guide participants in areas such as the ability to seek out career building resources in the community as well as providing tools and knowledge to aid in the growth of women in positions of civic and business leaderships in the greater Chattanooga community.
The goal is to be able to utilize women's talents and perspectives to help each other and create opportunities for more leadership roles. From developing skills in communication styles and the power of influence of authority, these topics will be the building foundations for future women interested in the program. Marketing, public speaking, business communication techniques, and self-esteem building are just a few other areas that will round out the program.
This initiative began in August 2008, and graduated its first class of 16 women from a variety of business backgrounds in the greater Chattanooga area. CWLI has announced an upcoming Women Mentoring Women series, scheduled to begin on August 26, 2011. The program consists of eight 2-hour lunchtime sessions designed to aid women in developing or sharpening their mentoring skills so they may return to the community to mentor other women towards becoming stronger leaders.
